Paying homage to the original Six Grapes label, the Six Grapes River Quintas blend is made up of wines from Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta do Tua, two of our finest riverside quintas famed for producing grapes with exceptional concentration.
Tasting notes
Complex aromas of blackberry and cassis and complemented with hints of mint and eucalyptus. Concentrated on the palate, dark plum, liquorice and chocolate flavours are balanced with a wonderful, fresh acidity.
Pairs well with rich, nutty, or chocolate desserts, as well as with a variety of cheeses.
Bold, with exuberant blueberry and açai berry paste flavors leading the way, backed by blackberry cobbler, chocolate and melted licorice notes.
Made using grapes from the oldest vines in our four key estates, Six Grapes Old Vines Edition is a wine of incredible concentration, complexity and experience. With an excess of 40 years of growth and development, Old Vines is an expression of the profound character of the Douro’s terroir.
Tasting notes
Complex floral aromas with distinct notes of rockrose and anise complement Old Vines deep purple colour – typical of low-yielding vines. Excellent structure and concentration are balanced with good acidity and notes of black plum and liquorice give way to a soft, velvety finish.
It is dense and impressively ripe. Concentrated fruit dominates, cut with acidity as well as a dark texture. Rounded and rich.
